Accessibility Statement

Our commitment
Parker Smart Kids aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Children with diverse abilities and learning differences are part of our audience, and we want every parent and child to be able to use the service.
What we do
- Semantic structure. Pages use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and ARIA labels where appropriate, so screen readers can navigate the site.
- Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements (buttons, links, form fields, lesson choices) are keyboard-reachable. Lesson decisions can be answered without a mouse.
- Color contrast. Text and interactive elements meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios.
- Resizable text. The site uses relative units so users can zoom in browser settings up to 200% without breaking layout.
- Captions and alt text. Visual elements include descriptive alt text. We do not rely on color alone to convey meaning.
- Reduced motion. We respect the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting and minimize non-essential animation. - Forms. Form fields have visible labels, helpful error messages, and don't rely on placeholder text alone.
Known gaps and ongoing work
This is an evolving product. Areas we are actively improving:
- Audio versions of lesson scenarios for non-readers and visual-impairment support are planned
- Screen-reader testing of the parent dashboard is ongoing across NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver
- Spanish-language lesson content is on the roadmap
